Indian Wells; Dan Evans and Johanna Konta progress in to the tournament

Dan Evans from Great Britain has managed to book himself for the main draw of the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells after winning over Noah Rubin.  As for Johanna Konta, she also progressed into the second round after a comfortable win.

The 10th seed of the tournament, Evans managed his win by 6-1 and 6-1 over his 23 years old world no. 153 opponent.

On the other hand, Radu Albot also progressed into the main draw after beating Lukas Lacko. 29 years old Albot prevailed after winning the game by 7-6 and 7-6 in almost 2 hours.

As for Johanna Konta, she progressed to the second round of the women’s event after beating Pauline Parmentier by 6-2 and 6-3.

With this Johanna Konta will now face the 27 years old Hsieh Su-Wei in the next match.

Victoria Azarenka, the former world no. 1 also progressed into the second round after defeating her fellow Belarusian opponent Vera Lapko by 6-2 and 6-3.

Up next, she will be facing the great Serena Williams for a second-round clash.

As for the match between wildcard Bianca Andreescu and Irina-Camelia Begu, Andreescu progressed after beating her opponent by 6-7, 6-3 and 6-3.  This was the first win of the WTA Mandatory event for the 18 years old Andreescu.
