Maria Sharapova pulling out of the French Open due to her shoulder injury

Maria Sharapova the two-time champion of the French Open has pulled out of the French Open due to her suffering from an ongoing shoulder injury.

Maria Sharapova, who has won the tournament back in 2012 and 2016, has not played the sport since back in January as she underwent surgery for her problem following that month.

The news was announced by the 32 years old champion herself on Instagram that she would not be participating in the second big tournament of the year which is going to start on May 26th at Roland Garros.

She posted, “Withdrawing from the French Open today. Sometimes the right decisions aren’t always the easiest ones. In better news, I have returned to the practice court, and slowly building the strength back in my shoulder. I really miss you Paris, until next year.”

Sharapova who is the 5 times Grand Slam winner and the world rank no. 53, reached the quarter finals of the French Open last year.
