Michael Thomas and the New Orleans Saints agree for a 5year, $100m extension contract

Michael Thomas, the All-Pro player of the NFL has agreed for a 5-year contract with a 100 million dollars extension along with 20 million dollars extension ahs agreed for a deal with NFL team New Orleans Saints. With this contract, Thomas has now become the highest-paid wide receiver in the league.

This deal also brings an end to Thomas’s training camp out hold along with having him guaranteed money of 61 million dollars.

The 26 years old Thomas in his short career has made 321 catches which is the most for the NFL history for any new player in three seasons. In the previous season, he broke the record of the New Orleans by making 125 catches and led the league with his 1405 yards along with 9 touchdown catches.

As for Thomas’s rookie contract, he will still earn only 1.1 million dollars but the extension ahs now locked him up with the New Orleans Saints until 2024 season. While he was waiting for a  new deal, Thomas did not come to the training camp for which he set a price of 20- million dollars per season as his final price.

Thomas was drafted by the New Orleans Saints straight out of Ohio State back in the 2016’s second draft. He was the first-round pick up and was given a contract of 5 years until 2020.

The preseason campaign of New Orleans will start on Friday of the August 9th with the regular season starting on September 9th against the Houston Texans.
