Nuggets win over Blazers by 116-112 victory to even 2nd round series

Denver Nuggets have proved themselves to be great at bouncing back all this season.

Not even a 4 OT defeat could hold them down for long.

Nikola Jokic led the Denver Nuggets with his 21 points along with 12 rebounds and 11 assists for his second triple-double in a row and 4th of his playoff career this season as Nuggets won over the Portland Trail Blazers by 116-112 in the semifinals of the Western Conference.

With this win, Nuggets have also even the 2nd round of playoff series by 2-2 on the Sunday night’s game.

This win for Nuggets came roughly after 48 hours of their defeat by 4 OTs against the Blazers to give them a lead of 2-1. This was the only second game in the history of NBA playoffs that a game went for 4 OTs. The last game with 4 OTs was held back in 1953.

Jokic said, “I think it’s not quitting. We have a lot of guys who are competitive and don’t like to lose in a game. I think we don’t want to lose than we like to win which is weird. We just did not want to lose with an excuse that we had played a game earlier with 4 OTs and we were tired in this one.”

Nuggets’ top scorer on the night was Jamal Murray who scored 34 points for the team and was also the one who handed the Portland Trail Blazers their first loss of the playoff at a home game this season. With this game concluded in favor of Nuggets, Game 5 will be played in Denver next.

As for Portland Trail Blazers, they were led by CJ McCollum who scored 29 points while Damian Lillard scored 28 points for the team. This is the first time for Trial Blazers since 2000, that they have lost a chance of taking a 3-1 lead in the semifinals of the layoffs.
