Andy Murray and Feliciano Lopez duo wins the doubles 1st round match at Rogers Cup

The doubles pair of Andy Murray and Feliciano Lopez went on to defeat the pair of Marcelo Melo and Lukasz Kuboit at the first round of doubles match at Rogers Cup held in Montreal.

Murray and Lopez made it to the tournament after winning the wild card entry and were able to win against their first round opponents in 2 hours by 6-7, 6-3 and 11-9.

The pair who won the Fever-Tree Championship at Queen’s Club showed their same energy once more on the field as they saved a match deciding tie-break point to win the game.

Lopez said of Andy, “Whenever I play with him it is a lot of fun. Today was a very special day. I think we deserved this win because we played really well.”

In other matches of the day, the duo of Jamie Murray and Neal Skupski were not so great on their doubles match as they got defeated by the duo of Joe Salisbury and his American partner Rajeev Ram. The duo won their opponents by 7-5 and 7-5.
