Tennis Integrity Unit provisionally suspends Joao Souza again following corruption investigation

TIU (Tennis Integrity Unit) has suspended the Brazilian tennis player Joao Souza following the corruption investigation.

Souza had already served the provisional suspension from Tennis Integrity Unit back on March 29th and was reinstated earlier on 9th April after his appeal came through.

According to TIU, the provisional suspension has been placed back in the light of new evidence submitted by TIU. This time, no more appeal will be accepted as well.

As for the details of the suspension, they were not disclosed as of the moment.

30 years old Souza is currently ranked as world no. 442 with his career high rank to be 69 back in 2015.

In 2015, Souza also played the longest singles Davis Cup match ever in the history. The match was played against the Argentinean player Leonardo Mayer for 6 hours and 42 minutes which Souza lost by 15-13 in the fifth set.

As for TIU, it is the joint initiative created by the ITF, WTA, and ATP Tours as well as Grand Slam Board.
